The smoke is very evident here. This is a counter service restaurant where you order and pay then go sit down at a table of your choice. They give you a metal number to place on your table so they know where to bring your order. You also pay for an empty cup that you can refill as much as you like with teas or sodas and fine ice. I bought more than I wanted but they don't have what I would call a sampler meal. So my 3 meat combo of pulled pork, ribs and burnt ends with 2 sides and cornbread came to $50 and change. It was 3 meals in one so I had 2 to-go boxes to take home. First I ate the Mac and cheese which was very good. And also ate my collard greens and cornbread, which by the way was slathered in rich butter. They also include a little mix of onions and pickles as a garnish. I had enough room to eat one burnt end which was smokey and sweet. I also had one bite of the pulled pork, not chopped, and kept all of the ribs to take home. I love this place and wish it was closer to my home in Greensboro. I left completely full with 2 more meals to look forward to. This is a busy place so be prepared to wait in line for a little bit. I know they have desserts but I don't even know what

My family and I really enjoyed the BBQ here. The ribs were very good and would order them again. The corn bread was great. I also liked the chicken, but my favorite was the burnt ends, delicious. The potato salad could use some more flavor, I probably wouldn't order that again. I will recommend this restaurant to family. 😊

I've been passed the restaurant several times with intentions of stopping but today I made an effort to stop. The long lines told me 2 things. The place needs to expand and that the food was good. And let me tell you.. it didn't disappoint. Had the chopped brisket sandwich, Mac, and the chocolate mousse. Have mercy! If you want excellent portions and reasonable prices, great service, and an atmosphere of people eating and fully enjoying themselves, stop at this place. The Smoke Pit hit one of my top restaurants on visit #1. And I'm intentionally hard on places because I don't have a lot of money to eat out. Portions were wonderful. No shrink-flation there. If I am being honest, this is not a dieters spot. But if you're on a cheat day or have fallen off the diet wagon, head on over and sit a spell for some of the best eating in Cabarrus County.

If you like barbecue and never experienced The Smoke Pit, you are definitely missing out. The options are wide with standard fare like pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, and brisket. There are some other options a bit outside the box like wings. A plethora of sides including sweet potato casserole, fried okra, baked beans, potato salad, and amazing mac and cheese. The corn bread is also awesome! This location has a queue set up so you need to order before you side. It moves pretty quickly though and they do have dining inside and outside. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the portions are large and the tastes are amazing! We’ve been to a few Smoke Pits and also been to events where they catered; never a disappointment. Check them out. You won’t leave hungry and you’ll likely be taking another meal or two home with you!

First time tryin' the Smoke Pit. Heard good things about this BBQ joint. Saturday afternoon around 7pm, entire place was poppin'. All tables were occupied, so we decided on a carry out order. Placed the order via the website. Had food in hand within 15 minutes, order was made accurate and quick service. The original sauce is mouth waterin'. Brisket was tasty, and quarter slab of chicken was huge. Sides were delicious, i really like the coleslaw. Portions are very generous.
